Turn search intent
into a useful journey.

People arrived with a question.
Instead of asking for their details first, the experience answered it, then used what had already been shared to make the next step easier.

01SEARCH INTENT

Meet the question
before asking for the lead.

The calculators were connected to an SEO content strategy. Articles answering high-intent questions (some of them reaching Google’s featured result, or position zero) used topic-specific calls-to-action to continue the exact question the visitor was already asking.

ORGANIC INTENT“What is a good debt-to-income ratio?”

Educational content answers the immediate search instead of forcing a commercial journey too early.

→
CONTEXTUAL CTACheck my debt ratio →

The CTA matches the topic: borrowing capacity, debt ratio or disposable income.

→
USEFUL NEXT STEPCalculator, not contact form.

The visitor receives personalised value first, and starts engaging with the journey.

ROUTE A / SEARCHIntent-led calculators

SEO content and topic-specific CTAs send visitors to the calculator that matches the question they are already trying to answer.

↘
ROUTE B / CONVERSATIONThe same logic, through a chatbot.

A parallel chatbot answered broader questions while progressively collecting the inputs required by the same calculation logic.

How much could I borrow?
I can estimate that. What's your monthly income?
€3,200
And your housing + current loan payments?
TWO ENTRY ROUTES → ONE SHARED LOGICCALCULATE · COLLECT · REUSE · CONTINUE →
CREATE ENGAGEMENTGive value first.

A useful answer creates a small reciprocal exchange: the visitor invests attention because the experience has already helped them.

REMOVE FRICTIONContinue, don’t restart.

Each interaction should reduce the effort required for the next one, not reset the visitor to an empty form.

02THE BUILD PATH

Give value first.
Then earn the next step.

The project started alongside an SEO strategy: useful calculators could answer the questions people were already searching for. The opportunity was to connect those answers into a journey rather than leave them as isolated lead magnets.

01 / INTENTSTART WITH THE QUESTION

Borrowing capacity, debt ratio or disposable income: one useful answer per search intent.

02 / VALUEANSWER FIRST

Give an immediate, educational result before asking for a request.

03 / CONNECTDON'T ASK TWICE

Reuse inputs across calculators and carry known information into the form.

04 / ITERATEMEASURE WHAT MOVED ↗

Adapt explanations and calls-to-action, then improve the journey from conversion data.

03EXPERIENCE IN ACTION

One question.
A useful answer.

This illustrative demo shows the principle: the result is not just a number. It explains the situation and changes the next step accordingly.

Illustrative calculator for portfolio demonstration. Thresholds and outputs shown here are explanatory, not financial advice.

04DON'T ASK TWICE

The form should continue
the journey, not restart it.

The calculator already collected useful context. The next step should preserve that engagement and remove friction: reuse what is known, ask only for what is missing, and keep the request connected to the result that triggered it.

RECIPROCITYValue before capture.

The visitor gets the answer they came for before being asked to continue.

PROGRESSIVE PROFILINGReuse what is known.

Inputs from the calculator carry into the next step instead of becoming duplicate questions.

ADAPTIVE CTARespond to the result.

A stressed budget and a healthy situation should not receive exactly the same explanation or call-to-action.

IMPACT

A useful journey
moved conversion.

+95%visitor → request conversion

The result came from connecting acquisition, usefulness, education and conversion as one experience, rather than treating the calculator, content and contact form as separate assets.
